Stacey Lawson
Director, Human Resources
Premier Health Partners

Stacey graduated from Wright State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the Raj Soin College of Business, and in 1996 with a Master of Science from the College of Education and Human Services.

Since 1998, she has spent more than a decade of her career with Premier, and is currently the Director of Human Resources for Miami Valley Hospital. In this role, Stacey has led the organization through significant change initiatives during one of the most tumultuous times in our economy while increasing employee engagement.

Innovative and transformational change leader with the business acumen to ascertain and analyze needs, chart vision, while executing the strategy, and delivering results are trademarks of Stacey Lawson’s career. She is credited with having spearheaded Premier Health Partner’s first comprehensive strategic diversity initiative and established the infrastructure and key metrics resulting in marked improvement in the culture of the hospital.

Stacey has an uncanny ability to bring out the best in people while maximizing organizational effectiveness and human capital. She has established a brand of leadership that cultivates continuous growth, development, and shares the insight from her experiences and lessons learned to motivate others to reach higher through coaching and mentoring. Stacey is adept in presenting to diverse audiences and has made numerous presentations to groups ranging from 3 to 300 in academia, health care, manufacturing, professional associations, faith based religious groups, and social service agencies. She was most recently a conference webinar speaker for the Institute for Diversity in Health Care Management, drawing the largest participation since its inception; a speaker at the Ohio Diversity Conference, the American Society for Health Care Human Resource Association, and the Miami Valley Human Resource Association. Stacey has served as an annual conference presenter at the Sister to Sister conference and in addition to teaching at Antioch University McGregor, has been a guest speaker at Wright State University, University of Dayton, and various school clubs and associations.

She is a member of the American Leadership Council for Diversity in Health Care Management where she designed curriculum for the certification for Diversity Practitioners and is currently a Board member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters.

Stacey’s successes have been chronicled and featured in various publications including The Black Collegian, the Black EOE Journal, and the Success Guide. She was most recently recognized as a DiversityFirsts, received the Rainbow Award for her community efforts in promoting racial harmony and reconciliation, and in 2002 was recognized as one of Dayton’s Top 40 Under 40. Stacey has completed a book that highlights the "Key" Notes of her professional and personal journey and has already started on a second book coming out soon.
