Connie became President of the Mid-Atlantic Region of Business Insurance in July of 2014. The Mid-Atlantic Region footprint includes Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and DC.
Connie comes to the President role from her position with Liberty Mutual as Senior Vice President and Manager of Commercial Insurance Underwriting Operations for Liberty Mutual Group. She managed the Underwriting Technical Consulting, Risk Control Services, Underwriting Quality Assurance, Underwriting Systems, Underwriting Support Services - Compliance, Process Improvement, Communication, Change and Knowledge Management, and Underwriting Systems functions and the Research Institute for Safety.
She has also held the role of Senior Vice President and Manager of Commercial Markets Underwriting Support Services where she oversaw the Compliance & Controls, Loss Control Advisory Services, Premium Audit, Policy Production, Retro Processing, Underwriting Operations and Underwriting Systems functions for Commercial Markets Underwriting. Prior to that she held the role of Vice President and Manager of Risk Quality Assessment.
From 2006 through 2008, she was responsible for all Loss Prevention operations within Wausau Insurance Companies, as vice president and manager – Loss Prevention. She also acted as the interim Vice President for Distribution Management. Prior to joining Wausau Insurance, she held various management and field positions in Liberty Mutual’s Loss Prevention department.
A native of Connecticut, Connie earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Fredonia and holds CPCU and CSP designations. She sits on the board of directors for the National Safety Council and is a member of the Ohio Insurance Industry Resource Council. She is currently serving as President of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Ohio Diversity Council and accepted the National Diversity Council 2015 award for Most Powerful & Influential Women. She is a past member of the advisory board for the RAND Center for Health and Safety in the Workplace.
