Mia Hairston is currently the Chief Diversity Officer for Nationwide Insurance. She has responsibility for the strategic oversight, administration, and execution of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives for over 33,000 Nationwide associates.
Mia is an accomplished insurance and financial services professional with over 23 years of experience. Throughout her career, she has held various leadership positions within Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, and Operations.
She has a B.S. degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of North Alabama and holds a Senior Professional Human Resources designation (SPHR). She has previously held her series 6, 26 and Life and Health licenses and is certified in diversity training, change management and has a Lean Six Sigma White Belt designation.
She is devoted to helping leaders improve organizational success and develop diverse talent in order to compete in the marketplace.
Mia and her husband, Dr. Kevin Hairston, reside in Columbus, Ohio with their daughter Kennedy.
